The official website for Toei Animation’s upcoming original anime, Girls Band Cry, revealed two new music videos for the project. In this case, they feature the band from the anime, Togenashi Togeari, who perform two songs entitled “Na mo Naki Nanimo Kamo (Nameless Name)” and “Itsuwari no Kotowari (No Rhyme nor Reason)”. Toei Animation also revealed the voice cast as well as the production team, but haven’t announced a release date for the project.
Voice Cast
- Mirei as Subaru Awa, a mature and determined art student.
- Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi, a free-spirited busker despite being 20 years old.
- Rina as Nina Iseri, an introvert girl who is good at being humble.
- Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka, heir to a wealthy family, but now alone in a shared apartment.
- Syuri as Rupa, born to a South Asian father and Japanese mother, is talented in acting.
Production Team
- Kazuo Sakai ( Love Live! Sunshine!! , Mushi-Uta ) is directing the anime.
- Nari Teshima is in charge of character designs and animation direction.
- Mari Kondou and Jae Hoon Jung are directing CGI animation.
- Kenji Tamai (agehasprings, Sing “Yesterday” for Me, Samurai Flamenco) is composing the soundtrack.
Synopsis Anime Girls Band Cry
The main character dropped out of high school in his sophomore year, and wants to enter university while working in Tokyo. On the other hand, a woman is betrayed by her friends but doesn’t know what to do. Despite being abandoned by her parents, a woman tries to survive in the city by working part-time jobs. This world always disappoints us. Nothing is going according to plan. However, we wanted something we could continue to like (music). We believe there is a place we deserve. Therefore, we keep singing.
