Most Badass Detective Anime Villains

The exciting thing in detective anime is not only how the criminals in each case are revealed, but how the main characters are irritated by villains who are so cunning and intelligent that they are difficult to catch for dozens to dozens of episodes.

This super villain formula is widely used in various detective anime to strengthen the storyline between episodes and provide the main purpose to the detectives.

Of the many super anime villains in detective anime, some have brilliant abilities that make us no longer annoyed, but rather amazed. Even though their goals are bad, they have cool ways to accomplish their goals, even beyond human thinking in general.

The Most Badass Detective Anime Villain

Renya Karasuma – Detective Conan

The cause of Shinichi Kudo’s reduction to Conan Edogawa was the Black Organization and until now, Conan has not completely found a way to defeat them. The Black Organization operates in the fields of illegal business, spies, hitmen, security services, technology, and even illegal weapons.

This organization filled with merciless members is led by ano kata (that person) who turns out to be a Japanese tycoon, Renya Karasuma. Renya’s business is not only in Japan, but also throughout the world.

He has many relationships with business people, celebrities, politicians, legal officials and government officials. Many of his businesses are legal, but they are also used to cover up his illegal businesses.

Renya is very old, thought to be 140 years old. Renya’s long life could be caused by the drugs produced by the Black Organization. Renya is known as a cold, cunning, cunning, greedy and impatient man: absolutely perfect for a mafia.

Physically, he is described as somewhat chubby with a nose that resembles a crow’s beak. He is a visionary, manipulative person, and seems to be able to read other people’s steps. Obviously, Renya Kasuyama is not an anime villain who can be underestimated.

Hoshihiko Kokuo/King Hades – Q Detective School

If there is a villain who makes fans both afraid and empathetic, perhaps King Hades is one of them. King Hades was born with the name Hoshihiko Kokuo, the illegitimate child of Yuriko Kokuo, a great criminal, with the famous genius Japanese painter, Takumi Kuzuryu.

King Hades heads the Meiosei, a criminal organization that operates in the field of murder planning. This anime villain will not dirty his hands with murder, but will make plans and mobilize clients or other people to carry it out. The Meiosei’s work was so immaculate that it was difficult to trace crimes back to them.

King Hades’ childhood was quite sad. He was locked up by his father who was afraid that his child would grow up like his mother. Later, as a teenager, he befriended Dan Morihiko, the owner of Q Detective School, but then the friendship broke up due to a misunderstanding.

King Hades is known as a cold, calm man, good at reading other people’s movements, good at making plans, but actually has a fragile heart. He himself admitted that he was like “an angel who chose to become a devil” because he lost hope from the people he really cared about.

Yoichi Takato – Detective Kindaichi

Pretending to be a clumsy, nervous and geeky magician’s assistant, in fact Yoichi Takato becomes a dangerous anime villain in Kindaichi Detective who is the most difficult for the high school detective to catch. Yoichi Takato is actually the illegitimate child of the famous magician Reiko Chikamiya. For a long time studying abroad, he himself didn’t know that Chikamiya was his mother, until one day he met Chikamiya in the park who liked his talent for magic and often watched Chikamiya’s performances. From there, he began to know the relationship between the two of them.

Even though he didn’t spend his childhood with his mother, he loved his mother very much. His first crime was based on revenge against the other magicians who sabotaged his mother’s performance. Then, he sabotaged the famous magicians’ performances until they died.

Skilled at magic, cunning and intelligent, Takato is difficult for Kindaichi to catch. He once challenged Kindaichi on the opposite train platform, but easily disappeared and left Kindaichi confused. Yoichi Takato is also known to be skilled at disguising himself and being a suspect in various other crime cases – of course he is always difficult to catch and can even free himself from the police.

Kira (Light Yagami) – Death Note

Death Note is not purely a detective series like the anime series above. There is a strong fantasy flavor due to the existence of the God of Death (Shinigami) and his book of death (Death Note) so that various murders in this series are not carried out in a natural way.

Kira or Light Yagami is the first holder of the Death Note book. As the son of a law enforcer, Kira’s goal in killing is actually quite noble. The victims are criminals who are considered to be disturbing world peace. However, what Kira does as a vigilante still goes too far and can disrupt other aspects of life. Moreover, his opinion about whether someone deserves to die or not is a very subjective personal opinion.

The eccentric detective L (Lawliet), who is a loner and very genius, is having difficulty proving that Light Yagami is the serial killer Kira who has the Death Note.

Light Yagami is described as a perfect child. His family is ideal, his father is a law enforcer, he is very intelligent, an honor student, goes into a cool major, and is also handsome. Influenced by his father’s career and the legal knowledge he studied, he felt he had to uphold justice on Earth. In fact, in live-action, Light Yagami is said to be frustrated with the Japanese legal system which is unable to punish criminals.

The existence of the Death Note seemed to “corrupt” him and bring out his dark side. Starting from just wanting to provide justice, Kira then became obsessed with becoming God and creating a new world, a world that for him was ideal.

Takuhiko Hayaseura – Id : Invaded

There is nothing stronger as a motivation for a detective than looking for criminals to take revenge. That’s what happened to Narihisago, who initially had to be imprisoned for hunting serial killers and got into Id Wells, a technology for “getting into the brains” of serial killers in order to see fragments of their minds to detect whether they committed the crime at hand.

Narihisago’s son was murdered by a serial killer and his wife committed suicide due to depression. His life was then dedicated to finding out who was involved in the murder.

Who would have thought that the person he had been after was Takuhiko Hayaseura, the founder of KURA, a secret police organization whose aim is to uphold the law and help the police (including connections and funding).

Not just a serial killer, Hayaseura is a manipulative man who even creates other serial killers to clean his hands and make his task easier. He used the name John Walker in his actions.

Hayaseura is described as an old man who is dapper, neat, formal, and has high manners. Who would have thought that this classy man was a murderer without a conscience. In fact, the aim of producing and “educating” sadistic serial killers is to strengthen KURA and become powerful over it.

The anime villains with various motives and motivations in the series above do have above average intelligence. They are also very calm in carrying out their actions, have strong ambitions and high self-confidence. That’s the reason they are so scary, but without them, the detective series above would be very boring. Agree?
